Our Beginnings
Dr. Gravity’s Kite Shop was founded in 1976 on Cape Cod Massachusetts in the tranquil ocean side village of Harwich Port. From the beginning, Dr. Gravity himself taught enthusiasts of all ages the joy’s of flying a kite high in the sky. That same year the tagline and t-shirt was created “High Over Harwich”, which is still today a staple item for customers who visit our store.
The store always sold much more than just kites, and catered to the locals and tourists alike for all their beach things, apparel, toys, games, and indoor/outdoor activities. Located in the center of town, Dr. Gravity’s was and still is today a destination for three generations of families where the bottom line is fun in the sun!
Our Experience
2022 marks the 46th Anniversary for Dr. Gravity’s Kite Shop! We are proud to be one of the oldest kite shops in the United States and the largest in New England. We are proud to have brought so much joy to peoples lives and look forward to continuing the legacy and heritage for many years to come! Thank you to all our supporters, especially during these challenging few years with the global pandemic.
